The firm was founded in 1997, by Brian Stutheit. He was soon after joined by Patrick Gartland. Both had been partners in a mid-sized law firm founded in 1965 which emphasized insurance defense and civil litigation.
Attorney Patrick Gartland was a founding member of the firm. Mr. Gartland's specialties over twenty plus years of legal practice were employment law, construction law and insurance defense. Some years ago Mr. Gartland became an owner in a manufacturing and supply company serving the telecommuncations industry. He put his law and engineering degrees to use and was able to create such a successful business that now he consults, as needed, in matters where he is expert.
Attorney Brian Stutheit has been practicing since 1978 and has a made a career in civil litigation. He appears before the state courts of Colorado, the U.S. District Court for the District of Colorado and the Northern District of Texas, and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 10th Circuit. Mr. Stutheit is a member of the Colorado Bar Association, the Colorado Defense Lawyers Association, the Arapahoe County Bar Association, the Rocky Mountain Property Claims Association and the Faculty of Federal Advocates.
Mr. Stutheit is an AV® Preeminent Peer Review Rated* attorney, recommended by his clients for inclusion in Best's Directories Of Recommmended Insurance Attorneys And Adjusters.
Before joining the firm in 2001, attorney Patricia Watson practiced commercial real estate law and business transactional law, and general commercial litigation at another law firm in Denver. Ms. Watson is a member of the Colorado Bar Association, the Denver Bar Association, and the Order of the Coif. She is a summa cum laude graduate of the law school at Florida State University, where she ranked second in her class. She was admitted to the Colorado Bar in 1997.
